Media Focus on Africa is looking for webbloggers (one from each Province) to report on election related issues over the next 10 weeks.
Criteria:
Must Stay within their home area
Between 24-35 years of age
Preferably non-partisan
Interested in politics
Creative
Interested writers/bloggers are requested to send in a creative non-fiction narrative (300-500 words) based on anecdotal stories about what young people have to say about the Youth Fund.

Poetry Competition

 ‘To Be A Man’
Kwani Trust in partnership with Ford Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of a poetry competition on the subject ‘To Be A Man’. This is to encourage the emergence of nuanced and contemporary poetry that asks questions about masculinity and gender in a changing world.
The competition offers a top prize of USD 1000 and USD 500 and USD 300 for 2nd and 3rd places respectively and the opportunity to perform during Ford Foundation’s Masculinity conference at the Godown Arts Centre in November 2007.
Poets are only be allowed up to three entries to be sent to poetry@kwani.org clearly titled ’To Be A Man’ Poetry Competition in the ‘Subject’ field. Poems should not exceed 500 words. The competition closes at midnight on Monday October 15th.
