Canadian Black International Film Festival Announces Film Club and
Call for Submissions

In 2009 the first annual Canadian Black International Film Festival
(CBIFF) will be launched with the goal of establishing and promoting
African and Afro-Caribbean cinema in the Canadian film industry. Our
aim is to provide a place to highlight both Canadian and international
filmmakers who produce content of black origin and increase
distribution/sales activity. In preparation for the festival, we’re
launching a monthly Film Club at the National Film board Mediatheque
(150 John St, Toronto), beginning in April 12, 2009. If you are a
filmmaker, writer, producer, actor or would like to break into the
film industry, this is a great opportunity to promote your film and
gain exposure to the public and local community, as well as, provide
you with extensive network opportunities.

The CBIFF Film Club is now calling for submissions from local,
national and international Directors, Producers and Writers. We are
currently seeking shorts, documentaries, feature films, music promos
and animation to create a monthly screening schedule. All submissions
will be logged for future monthly screenings.

I wish the film commision should do an entry just for student category especially on animation,this will increase will increase the partcipation and the exposure of enthusiast like me and students of Moi unversity who learn this art.

You are bringing film to life in kenya.Thanks to Kenyatta University who have taken the initiative of introducing film to its curriculum.We need more people in this proffesion for growth of the industry.As a stundent there I think I have a lot to smile about.

let us create awareness in our culture and major in producing films that are related to our traditions and culture avoid Western culture. African culture the best of all I love African specifically kenyan culture.

i want to say a big hand hand shake for the organiser of the KIFF Mr. Asiba fot his strong effort tryibg to see that Africa be known of her rich cultural and the world to know that there is a great great place call Africa with all the neccessities God created, and that you can find any thing want when it comes to africa.

But i want to say it was unfortunate that i never participated in the last edition of the KIFF due to some misharp but i want to make it strongly that i will not miss this 3th edition.
I will like to tell mr, Charles that a dream is something seen in abstract but also be a reality when put in to work, you should not relent your effort, the KIFF will one day be a big dream for all african why not the white world
