Poetry Competition

 ‘To Be A Man’
Kwani Trust in partnership with Ford Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of a poetry competition on the subject ‘To Be A Man’. This is to encourage the emergence of nuanced and contemporary poetry that asks questions about masculinity and gender in a changing world.
The competition offers a top prize of USD 1000 and USD 500 and USD 300 for 2nd and 3rd places respectively and the opportunity to perform during Ford Foundation’s Masculinity conference at the Godown Arts Centre in November 2007.
Poets are only be allowed up to three entries to be sent to poetry@kwani.org clearly titled ’To Be A Man’ Poetry Competition in the ‘Subject’ field. Poems should not exceed 500 words. The competition closes at midnight on Monday October 15th.







I couldn’t understand some parts of this article POETRY COMPETITION, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.

upto three entries implies submission of three poems or what?
I would to ask, what does this poem require to be written about? because the subject is wide, and again, what should it drive at the end of the day? should it portray the role of a man regardless of the situation in which he encounters himself?
